In the first quarter of 2025, the top social apps in South America showed varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. This analysis, based on data from Sensor Tower, provides insights into the trends observed across these popular platforms.

TikTok Lite - Save Data & Fast from TikTok Pte. Ltd. saw a notable fluctuation in weekly revenue, with a peak of approximately $1.7M in the last week of March. The app experienced a significant surge in downloads early in the quarter, reaching around 3.3M in mid-January, although downloads declined towards the end of March. Active users remained relatively stable, maintaining figures around 138M throughout the quarter.

Instagram, published by Instagram, showed a decline in revenue over the quarter, starting at $525K and closing at $357K. Downloads peaked at nearly 1.9M in mid-January but dropped to 1.3M by the end of March. Active users remained strong, consistently hovering around 177M.

Facebook by Meta Platforms, Inc. maintained a steady revenue stream, peaking at $94K in late February. Downloads were highest in early January, at about 1.4M, before gradually declining to 1M by the end of March. Active users saw a slight decrease, from nearly 193M down to 186M.

Threads experienced a consistent user base with active users growing from 49M to over 53M by the end of the quarter. Downloads fluctuated slightly, with a peak of 1M in the last week of March.
